The Galaxy S4 now has the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update in a number of territories. The firmware appeared in Russia first, a few days into February, and arrived in India a week later. Now it's rolling out to the Black Edition S4 in the UK. Find out all of the latest Galaxy S4 update news below.
Galaxy S4 Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update in Europe
While the Galaxy S4 LTE-A Lollipop update is currently available in the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia, the good old vanilla Galaxy S4 hasn't had a whiff of Lollipop outside of Russia and India.
Now, owners of the Black Edition Galaxy S4 (another LTE enabled S4) can be upgraded to Android 5.0.1 in the UK. SamMobile informs usthat model GT-I9505 is receiving the update, but there is no further news of Lollipop rolling out to standard S4 devices in the US or UK.
Meanwhile, Samsung Norway announced on Facebook recently that its roll-out of Lollipop on the S4 and S5 had been halted due to a number of bugs.
SamMobile had previously acquired an early test version of Android Lollipop on the Galaxy S4, complete with refreshed TouchWiz UI, which you can check out in the video below. The final version is virtually identical to what you see here.
